HOW NOT TO GROW BIGGER THIS HOLIDAY

Hey lovelies
The holiday season seems like the perfect excuse to gain some weight. I am presently on a diet (In my head) and a part of me is saying just throw all the caution to the wind and eat all you want but common sense tells me otherwise *Weeps* So, I’m going to share some of the tips I will use to prevent those extra pounds this season
Go for proteins: Proteins can help maintain a healthy weight because high-protein diets are associated with greater satisfaction and what’s more they are important for muscle growth. So, serve some chicken or turkey.
Chew slowly: When you chew very fast, your body has less time to register fullness, so chew slowly and take time to savour each bite.
Divert your attention: When at an event, try to divert your attention away from the food, there is more to a party than the food that is being served. Take some time out to enjoy the music, dance and mix with people.
Take control of the buffet: When eating Buffet style, try using a small plate and limit your meals to single servings.
Learn how to say No: We all have those aunties and uncles or even our parents that keeps supplying our already cleaned plates more jollof rice *But Why?* It is OK to decline respectfully by simply saying you are full or you would have it later.
Out of sight: If the food is in sight, there is every possibility for you to want it. Pack and freeze every left over.
Avoid added sugars: Holiday cookies, cakes, and pies are nothing short of tempting, but all that added sugar may increase the risk for cardiovascular disease and obesity. Stick to sugar that comes in its natural form (fruits, veggies, and whole grains) and try small tastes of the desserts you’re truly craving rather than loading up a full plate of bland cookies.
Walk it off: Instead of saving all the calories till after the holiday season, try walking it off. This will help burn it off and take you away from all the food.
