BOLARFAJ MAKEOVERS is fast becoming an household name in the make up industry.BOLANLE FAJENGBESI the C.E.O graduated from the FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE ABEOKUTA started makeup when she was in 2oolevel.
In this interview with Adeniran Aderonke she tells us of her background, profession,challenges, among many other things.

A.F.H - Who is Bolarfaj , tell us a 'lil about yourself?
BOLARFAJ - My full name is Bolanle Fajengbesi.Thats where Bolarfaj was gotten from , i'm from osun state,Western Nigeria, a christian family of 3
A.F.H - Please tell us of your educational background?
BOLARFAJ -i went to Best generation nursery and primary school then i gained admission into Holy college in 2007 i did pre-degree in FUNAAB before i later joined FUNAAB to study microbiology and i graduated 2012 then i served in the Ministry of health Ibadan
A.F.H - How was growing up like?
BOLARFAJ - it was fun cos i grew up with my paternal grandma
A.F.H - When did you start nurturing the idea of being a makeup artist?
BOLARFAJ - Since i was in 200level so during NYSC service i decided to be serious about it so during 3weeks camping there is this skill acqisition that comes up then i joined the make up session. And after 3weeks at camp i enrolled in a makeup schol for 3months..Then the story began from there
A.F.H - Can you tell us what makes a good fit for this profession with the competition so tough?
BOLARFAJ - Yeah, its not being easy, i wont lie honestly the market is competitive but then in science they say #its survival of the fittest# when i finished my NYSC service i went back to lagos and i joined a makeup brand called "BLACK UP PARIS'.So BLACKUP has not only brushed me up. Av met people and i have also improved in so many aspect, am still learning everyday am not perfect. so i just freelance to do my personal jobs outside so i can still meet up with my clients requirement #so the jobs i post are my personal jobs# done by BOLARFAJ.
A.F.H - Why did you choose this profession?
BOLARFAJ - I chose this profession because i love to make people beautiful and its what I've got passion for.
A.F.H - What are the biggest challenges make up artist have to face?
BOLARFAJ - Competitions(you will face competition from different MUA'S) we are many out there so we need people thet are persistent and those that wont give up on us no matter what.you will meet different client.This client issue has taught me to be patient with people.Especially where i work now.i meet people in different outlet.those that will insult you,appreciate you and those that are indifferent about what you have done for them.
A.F.H - What other challenges do you face?
BOLARFAJ - The makeup charges is another challenge because some people just feel you are too expensive..you know we have different packages dpending on what you want.so some people don't understand it isn't standard price so when you give them charges they see it as a big deal.so many challenges but i av said the major things.
BOLARFAJ - i just try to explain to her that she should let me do something nice on her and if she doesnt like it i will assure her that i will take it off and do what she wants. i dont force them cos trust me avmet people that will tell me the exact look they want, sometimes i do it and sometimes i try to convince them to lrt me do what i think would suit them.
A.F.H - Tel me your experience as a MAKEUP artist?
BOLARFAJ - So far it has being interesting and i love challenges really it makes me improve on my self,sometimes i even see jobs that are not even as nice as mine and they are posted so i look back and check if am not doing anything right and sometimes i see jobs that are better than mine and i still learn and sometimes some people job inspires me. when i see good jobs sometimes i try to recreate the look and see if i can do better.But i tell you improving on yourself is what matters, because the same way i was taught how to do makeup on people has changed over the years,i kip improving everyday,i learn from my co MUA and try different products.
BOLARFAJ - No i haven't so far.
A.F.H - What experience do you have apart from making up characters apart from using typical makeup techniques?
BOLARFAJ - I only know how to do MAKEUP,i don't do bridal hair and pedicure and manicure.
A.F.H - Who is your mentor in MAKEUP industry?
BOLARFAJ - In no particular order Bobby brown,Iposh,Oshewa,Eeswat and some people i like and admire their jobs too.
BOLARFAJ - I use BLACKUP PARIS,TARA,SLEEK,AVON,ZARON,JORDANA,MILANI, and some other cheap brands that are not popular, I also use MISS ROSE,MAYBROOK AND URCHI they are Dubai brands.
A.F.H - What advise do you have some one that wants to follow your path?
BOLARFAJ - Well my advice for any upcoming MUA is that she shouldnt follow my path , she should create her own path and be hardworkig and also prayerful, dont look down on other MUA because yu can learn from anybody and lastly use good productsits important; you av to spend money to get money and make sure you av a very good hygiene,use deodorants keep your breath fresh and dont ook shabby whenever you working on a client, it goes a long way.
BOLARFAJ - I see myself having some specific brands of makeup in my name not makeup generally all cosmetics but i will concentrate on some specific ones and i hope to take my name really far #GOD GRACE#.
A.F.H - What do you think of ADERONKE FASHION HOUSE?
BOLARFAJ - I think its a good innovation for trending outfit and stylish ladies
