ADERONKE'S FASHION HOUSE: CHOOSING THE RIGHT NECKLACE FOR YOUR NECKLINES

Finding the necklace to wear with your outfit can sometimes be a little overwhelming and often times, we put so much energy into choosing the right outfit for a special occasion that we forget to take note of the accessories that goes with it.

One of the most important aspect in achieving a stylish look is choosing the right necklace for a specific neckline. This is because, the right necklace with the right outfit can totally enhance the overall appearance of the wearer.

Here are a few tips to help you in choosing the right necklace for your neckline. Be inspired...

▶ Collared Neckline
There are two types of necklaces that work well with a collared neckline-either really big or really small. Small will obviously hide under the collar for the most part, so if you want your necklace to show at all, go for a big statement one.

Of all the necklines, this one is one of the easiest to pair necklaces with. You can easily wear a bib necklace, a pendant necklace, a collar necklace or just about any style of necklace that you'd like with this neckline.

A wide scoop neckline is great for your longer styles of necklaces, since your top won't get in the way of the long chain. Try long pendant necklaces, like this one, or smaller necklaces that fit completely in the neckline opening (make sure the bottom of the necklace doesn't bump into the neckline of your shirt!).

Because of how dedicate this neckline is, it's a good idea to look for a necklace with a strong central focus. This means going for a chain link like this or other standard, classic link necklaces. A dainty necklace with a charm or birthstone pendant is also perfect.

Pairing a necklace with this neckline can be tough... Time and time again we see people getting this pairing wrong. So if you're wearing a strapless neckline with a hole at the bust or spacing in the fabric, you're better off not wearing a necklace at all but If you're wearing a halter with full frontal coverage, opt for an ornate or simple collar necklace or leave your neck bare.

▶ Strapless Neckline
All styles of jewelry will complement a strapless neckline. However, note that strapless outfits exposes lots of skin and can call for attention at the bust especially if you have a larger chest- so a choker in small, translucent beads or crystal gem will be the best bet. You can also use an elaborate drop necklace especially if it's a sweetheart neckline.

These necklines sit off the shoulder or below them and run along the collarbone. They are similar to boat necklines so can also be paired with longer styles of necklaces. However, this neckline sits below the collarbone which makes it different from a boat neckline, so wearing it with a choker or collar necklace is also a great option.

This is another neckline that is difficult choosing the right necklace to pair with, but it can be done any way. Because of the assymetry of this neckline, it is advisable you use necklace that has geometric components or playful proportions or don't use any at all. The key is to always make sure the necklace is long enough to clear at least two inches below the neckline.

This neckline is a little tricky so be careful of the necklace you wear with it. It's either you don't wear any necklace or pair with big statement necklace.

Since the neckline is so wide, the best necklaces for it are chunky, long necklaces or one with longer pendants. This particular one only has one strand, but styles with several strands are okay too.
